For the exhibition Seamless at Virginia’s Museum of Contemporary Art, These two canvases have a conversation with each other where the left canvas is created prior to the artist giving birth and the second is created after giving birth. The dialogue between these two pieces touch on the design of human life: how we evolve through both minor and major changes, and how the art of minds and bodies adapt to these changes. Upon reflecting on these pieces herself, the artist sees how there is a buildup in the first piece (on the left): of anxiety, excitement, fear of not only parenthood but also giving birth - almost like an inhale. Whereas the second piece (on the right) is an exhale, leaning a bit more into her instincts.
